Barcelona talisman, Lionel Messi is very serious about leaving the club. It doesn’t look like he is going to turn back this time.
As per Express, Messi has agreed to personal terms at the Etihad Stadium and the deal is inches away from completion. The only thing stopping Man City from rushing into the deal is current dispute between the Messi and the Board over his contract.

Messi wants to leave for free for Barcelona Board believes that the clause which allowed him to leave for free expired in June. The season officially gets over on 31st August and hence there is some confusion. However, it looks like the board isn’t even trying to keep their best man with themselves.
The release clause for Messi is pointed at a massive 632 million euros with City keeping the money ready in case the Blaugrana asks them to pay. The 33-year-old is serious about joining a winning project and has even agreed to take a pay-cut at Manchester City. If the deal is successful, Messi will be reunited with his former boss in Pep Guardiola and we might get to see him play at the false 9 position once again.
The Blaugrana are due for a major revamp, headed by Ronald Koeman. The former Barcelona player failed to convince Messi to stay and apparently told the 33-year-old that his privileges were “over”, and this angered the Argentine even more. Without Messi, the rebuilding process will be tougher than it already is, and the team will struggle. With the ongoing financial troubles, one should not expect some big lucrative signings.
Barca have got a tense couple of weeks staring at them and it will be interesting to see how this one turns out. If Messi leaves the club, then what net for Barcelona?
