The humiliating defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League could be described as the nail in the coffin for Barcelona and the emergence of mass change in the club. However, what the club was not prepared for, was Lionel Messi wanting to leave.

This is not the face time the player has been linked with a move to Manchester City or any other club, however, this is the very first time that the player has decided to not attend the training session or PCR tests while being the captain of the squad.
Leo Messi is determined to leave the club at all costs and the board of Barca is willing to keep Messi at the club at all costs. The mess that has been created is now having an effect on other operations as well.
All other transfer operations have been put on hold as the club has channeled all its attention towards retaining Messi for the 2020/21 season under Ronald Koeman.
Barca lost out on a talent
While Barca continues their negotiations with Jorge and Lionel Messi. Ronald Koeman has already made it loud and clear that Luis Suarez will not feature in his plans next season and that the former Liverpool man must search for a new club right away.
However, Barca is yet to finalize a replacement for the striker, and for a long time, it seemed like it was Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan. El Desmarque reports that given the current situation at the Camp Nou, the young Argentine forward has considered continuing for another season at the San Siro before making his dream move.
It seems like Martinez does not want to be part of the mess that prevails at the Catalan club. Barca has certainly lost out on an important signing and now Koeman will have act quick to have a back up for Luis Suarez.
