A risk to depart at 33 years  old

Lionel Messi departing for greener pastures looks more likely than not now. The Premier League seems like his prime destination next but it’s a major risk that he may take by departing the club. England’s top-flight is more physical than any other league in the world and settling into completely new surroundings and scenes might take him a year.

After all, Messi has never played for a club outside of Barca and is as acquainted to Spanish football and the city of Barcelona as one could possibly be. With that being kept in mind, he is a 33-year-old and has just a couple of years more at the highest level. Wasting one of them is not the best option for him and therefore, a move shouldn’t be considered.
