Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have been the world’s greatest players.

Juventus are among several clubs who have been linked with a transfer for Lionel Messi. A mercurial reunion of the Barcelona ace and Cristiano Ronaldo has not been entirely ruled out despite possibilities of it being as bleak as they could be. However, it looks like the Portuguese international may influence his own future in the event of Messi arriving.

More from Everything Barca

Diario GOL has reported that the former Real Madrid marksman has already alerted the Serie A champions that he will be leaving the club if they negotiate for a move with Messi. Ronaldo does not see himself playing with the Argentina international and believes that there may be a major conflict of interests on the field between the attacking duo.

Cristiano Ronaldo has already been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain ever since the Old Lady of Turin faced another debacle in the Champions League. The 35-year-old’s stay at the club was confirmed by Pavel Nedved despite scares about a move to France, and the Bianconeri are currently rebuilding once again to mount a serious challenge again.

Honestly speaking, it looks very unlikely that Lionel Messi joins Juventus considering that the Italian giants cannot afford his transfer fees and wages. For the time being, Manchester City seems like the only club that will be ready to accommodate the Argentinian considering that his demands will be steep to say the least.

Moreover, the Serie A top-flight isn’t exactly the league Messi would enjoy playing in and he would have identified that. The Italians play a defensive brand of football and the likes of Messi and Ronaldo will not be able to replicate their numbers in such a division. The Portuguese’s numbers have already dropped and Messi wouldn’t want to face the same.
