During the interview, he also emphasized on the lack of a proper plan in place, remembering the abysmal games they played in crucial games in the past few seasons.

"“But I looked further afield and I want to compete at the highest level, win titles, compete in the Champions League. He insists his decision to leave had nothing to do with the Bayern Munich game where the Catalans lost 8-2 to the German giants. The decision was brewing along all year long due to his desire to play the best possible football and win titles and trophies.

His dissatisfaction with Bartomeu came through on multiple occasions, while also stating how the media and fans perceived his decision as a negative one despite how hard it was for him to announce his exit from his boyhood club. His family was also deeply affected and saddened at the thought of leaving Spain.

His love and affection for the club that “gave him everything” came through and the poor management by Bartomeu was perhaps the main reason behind the 33 year old’s decision to leave.
