Barcelona outcast set to stay this season under Ronald Koeman

Ronald Koeman has taken drastic changes since being appointed as the manager of Barcelona. The former Everton manager is keen on bringing about a change at the Catalan club and his first step towards achieving change was getting rid of the deadwood.

More from Everything Barca

Ivan Rakitic has already been sold and next on the line is Luis Suarez, Arturo Vidal, and Samuel Umtiti. Philippe Coutinho’s future has also been highly uncertain for quite some time, however, it is now rumoured that the Brazilian will not be making a switch to the Premier League.

Coutinho’s grand transfer in the winter market of 2017/18 was expected to be a game-changer for Barca. The Brazilian then was one of the world’s very best players and was a crucial member of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool. However, Coutinho’s dream move to the Camp Nou failed to click.

After a successful loan spell at Bayern Munich and winning the treble with the Germans, it is now believed that Coutinho will get another shot at proving his worth. The El Desmarque reports that the former Liverpool man will most likely be included in Koeman’s plan for the 2020/21 season.

Koeman has numbers in the attack for next season

Philippe Coutinho was also spotted training at Barcelona, however, the Brazilian underwent an individual training session and is expected to join the squad very soon. Ousmane Dembele has also fully recovered from his injury and was spotted training with the rest of the squad. Koeman will have Antoine Griezmann, Ousmane Dembele, Ansu Fati, Martin Braithwaite, and Lionel Messi as his first-choice forwards.
