Paris Saint-Germain offer double money for chief Barcelona target
Paris Saint-Germain are ready to break the bank in order to sign one of the players shortlisted by new Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman.
Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman is already thinking of a squad revamp and has told Luis Suarez to leave the club, alongside Arturo Vidal. Having already overseen the first departure of Ivan Rakitic, the former Everton coach will turn his attention to signing two of his compatriots- Georginio Wijnaldum and Memphis Depay.

Wijnaldum is not very much in demand and may be second fiddle if Liverpool sign Thiago Alcantara, but there is genuine competition for Depay. The pacey winger has been identified as an alternative to Jadon Sancho by Manchester United and are still keeping the door open to his return, whereas Paris Saint-Germain are eyeing a move for him too.
Olympique Lyon consider the Dutchman an integral part of their plans and therefore, will demand as much as possible to part ways with him. The player has confessed that he would be open to changing pastures, but Diario GOL posts a major issue for Barcelona as PSG are ready to increase their evaluation.
Ligue 1’s defending champions are prepared to offer double the money that the Blaugrana would for Depay’s services, which may be a major factor in deciding his next destination. Kylian Mbappe and Neymar have both been tipped to leave France sooner or later, and given Di Maria’s age, Depay is seen as a realistic target.
Paris Saint-Germain have a powerful financial backing and competing in that regard against a debt-ridden Barcelona side wouldn’t require much. With that said, the player may prefer to win in France, where he hasn’t despite playing for a side from that country or at the same time want to reunite with his former national coach.
Where do you see Depay playing in the 2020/21 campaign?
