Barcelona must turn their attention towards securing their generational talent

Lionel Messi has finally returned to training after a long attempt of leaving Barcelona this summer. The possible exit of Messi has garnered too much attention and too much time was wasted as well in trying to convince the player. Yes, Leo is the world’s greatest player but at the age of 33, the Argentine forward does not have too many years left in his feet to perform at the highest level.

Instead, Barca should turn their attention towards securing their generational talent, Ansu Fati. The Catalans have a gem of a footballer in their hands and it all depends on how the club shapes the player’s future for him to become the superstar he promises to be.

Fati at 17, has already dazzled the world with his quick feet and eye for goal. The forward has already gone down in the history books of Spain as the country’s youngest ever goalscorer.

In fact, the 17-year-old Ansu Fati has performed better than Real Madrid’s Eden Hazard last season which proves how promising a talent the Spaniard is.

However, with such phenomenal performances, the attention from other top European clubs is inevitable. Ansu Fati has been on the agenda of Manchester United who had attempted to sign the player this summer transfer window but failed to do so.

Ansu Fati is yet to sign his professional contract as the player is still a minor with a 170 million euros release clause. When Fati turns 18, the club’s first step should be to renew his contract into a professional one with a release clause of 400 million euros to tie down the player at the Camp Nou.

Barca cannot afford to lose Ansu Fati and given his talent and dedication, it is almost certain that the forward will grow into one of the world’s very best in the next few seasons.
