Ronald Koeman may not be the most tactical or successful coach that Barcelona has appointed in recent years. However, the Dutch manager is certainly a strong character that will not get bullied easily by the club or its players.

More from Everything Barca

For years there have been rumours that at Barca there is a group of heavyweights that are indispensable. The group mainly consists of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba. However, Koeman has no tolerance against the internal politics at the club and his first action as the manager of the club is to clean out the deadwood.

It has been reported that Koeman wants Luis Suarez, Arturo Vidal, Samuel Umtiti, Martin Braithwaite, and a few more other aged players out in the coming seasons. Koeman’s priority is to focus on providing ample opportunity to the younger players to build a team for the future.

Koeman seals Suarez’s future out of the Camp Nou

In the case of Luis Suarez, Ronald Koeman has stated that the former Liverpool striker is not in his plans for the upcoming season. Suarez has now been linked with a move to Italy and the El Desmarque reports that the striker is closer than ever from becoming a Bianconeri.

However, Koeman’s decision to discard Luis Suarez as not been taken well by Lionel Messi as the duo are the best of friends. The pair together alongside Neymar had once formed the world’s most dangerous attacking trio that had also formed a great personal bond amongst the three of them.

With Suarez closing in on a move to Juventus, Lionel Messi will have to play his final season without his best mate and preferable striker. The Catalans are also closing in on Memphis Depay and have decided to keep Philippe Coutinho for the rest of the season.
