Barcelona reinstate their interest to sign one of the very best strikers
Ronald Koeman is on the look for a first-team quality striker after the Dutchman has decided not to include Luis Suarez in his plans for the upcoming season. According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona had considered Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, however, the club has now decided to shortlist Memphis Depay instead and there have been talks with the player’s agent.

However, Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan has been linked with Barca the longest. The player has been heavily linked since the start of the 2019/20 campaign, however, his previous hefty release clause worth 111 million euros was an issue for Barca.
Currently, Lautaro has been valued between 85-90 million euros and the El Desmarque reports that the player’s representatives have already flown to Barcelona to negotiate a possible deal. Meanwhile, Inter certainly does not want to sell their star striker as the club believes that the partnership of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez could help them win trophies this season.
Martinez’s representatives are against the idea of extending his stay at the San Siro and the player shares the same belief as well, however, the issue is with Ronald Koeman.
Koeman’s plans clash with the board’s plans
Ronald Koeman wants Gini Wijnaldum, Memphis Depay, and Stefan de Virj at the Camp Nou. However, the board prefers signing Thiago Alcantara, Lautaro Martinez, and Eric Garcia respectively for the three different positions.
The club seriously needs to come to a conclusion on their potential transfer targets before its too late. The above-mentioned transfer targets are also wanted by several other clubs and if the Catalans do not settle their confusion soon then they might just lose out on several signings.
