Ronald Koeman continues to slash players out from his plans at Barcelona

Ronald Koeman has made the headlines of almost every newspaper since taking over Barcelona. The Dutchman has been linked with conducting a squad revamp that includes showing the door to several of the current squad members.

More from Everything Barca

The El Desmarque reports that the manager has now considered to part ways with Junior Firpo. The former Real Betis left-back has failed to impress Ernesto Valverde and Quique Setien as well.

Firpo was signed as the ideal backup for Jordi Alba after displaying a promising potential while at Real Betis. However, the player has failed to show the same form he once did despite being given ample opportunity.

The youngster was also once a prime target for Real Madrid, however, Los Blancos opted out and settled for Ferland Mendy instead.

Nonetheless, Firpo has failed to settle in at Barca since his arrival. The 24-year-old lacks a professional attitude that is demanded from a footballer that plays for a club of Barcelona’s stature. The former Real Betis man is often late to training due to his hedonistic lifestyle and fails to get along with most of the staff at the club.

Junior Firpo even broke a serious rule in his first season at Barca

The first leg against Napoli at the San Paolo stadium saw Junior Firpo play with an injured arm. The youngster had burnt a portion of his arm as he participated in go-karting before the UCL game. The sport is on the blacklist of the club as it is considered a high-risk activity, however, it seems like Firpo has no regard and continues to be childish.

Inter Milan have reignited their interest in signing Firpo as a backup left-back, however, the Catalans are yet to find a replacement. Who would you want to see as a potential replacement for Jordi Alba ahead of Junior Firpo?
