Barcelona ace Lionel Messi has a contract at the Camp Nou until June 2021. He will be free to discuss with other clubs starting January.

Lionel Messi committed his short-term future to Barcelona after he confirmed his stay at the Camp Nou until the end of his contract. However, major doubts continue to be cast over whether he will stay at the club for longer than that. Even though there is a change in the higher offices, he does not seem to be a happy man with respect to recent transfers.

Diario GOL now claims that there may be a major twist in the tale with Messi once again being linked with a departure. Cristiano Ronaldo may play a major role in it. The Portuguese is in the final two years at Juventus, meaning he must be sold next year in case he wishes to leave or go for free in 2022, something the Bianconeri would not want.

Paris Saint-Germain have kept an eye on the former Real Madrid marksman since a few years and believe they will be comfortably affording him in the next summer. Kylian Mbappe’s imminent transfer to Real Madrid is likely to land them nearly 200 million euros which they plan on using to bring in the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

Barcelona’s lethal forward is free to negotiate with other clubs from January 1 provided he does not sign a contract extension. Juventus are in a position to land him for the summer and even the player could be keen on a move to Turin. After all, the Argentine’s best friend on and off the field, Luis Suarez, is supposedly heading to the Serie A as well.

Suarez is reportedly negotiating his Italian citizenship and only the final details regarding his release from Barcelona are pending. As for Juve, the Old Lady of Turin has already agreed personal terms with the Uruguay international and let Gonzalo Higuain leave for Inter Miami, the latter’s transfer now pending only official confirmation.
