Barcelona receive a setback in their quest to sign Memphis Depay

Fabrizio Romano has reported that a transfer fee worth 25 million euros plus 5 million additional bonuses has been agreed to, however, Lyon’s president claims that there have been no talks with Barca over the possible signing of Memphis Depay. Lyon’s claim that there has been no agreement so far makes the transfer rumour quite controversial.

However, reports now claim that even if Barca and Lyon agree to terms to the sale of the former Manchester United forward. The Catalans cannot sign the player unless they sell a few more of their senior squad members this summer due to a specific rule in La Liga.

Koeman and the board prepare to axe Luis Suarez

Ronald Koeman and the board have agreed to show the door to Luis Suarez to make way for Memphis Depay. Suarez at the age of 33, has shown serious signs of deterioration.

Despite being seriously injured last season the former Liverpool striker managed to finish the season with 16 goals and 8 assists in just 28 league games. The statistics are quite impressive given the injuries that the player has dealt with, however, Koeman prefers to have Depay instead in the attacking front three.

Do you think that Ronald Koeman and the board are making the correct decision by showing the door to Luis Suarez to make way for Memphis Depay?
