ALEN HALILOVIC

Bartomeu brought in Alen Halilovic back in 2015 and most argued that it was a reactionary move to arch-rivals Real Madrid landing Martin Odegaard. The Croatian was also among those players who should have never been signed so soon given that La Masia produces great players and the club’s midfield at that time had Iniesta, Rakitic and Xavi.

Following a few spells out on loan, Halilovic was sold off to Hamburg. The 24-year-old currently plays for AC Milan but his career with the Rossoneri has also been marred with loan spells here and there. Had he not been signed, the midfielder would have gotten regular minutes and a consistent environment at a young age and been a better player.
