ANDRE GOMES

Andre Gomes became a wanted property in Spain after Euro 2016 with Barcelona and Real Madrid both vying to sign him. While Los Blancos were frontrunners to make a transfer, the Blaugrana hijacked the move and brought him into the Camp Nou. Gomes was another midfielder who was unnecessary and one fails to understand why he was signed at the back of one good tournament against below-par countries.

Gomes did have a fair number of chances to prove himself with the Blaugrana but he never settled into their system. Upon studying more about the player, it was understood that he was someone who prefers a box-to-box style of football and of fast build-up which is why he is doing well at Everton and not at Barcelona, meaning the player wasn’t scouted well enough.
