YERRY MINA

Yerry Mina was another defender the Blaugrana signed when they had the likes of Samuel Umtiti and Gerard Pique in the squad, whereas a move for Clement Lenglet was also planned. Mina’s profile and playing style never matched Barcelona’s basic philosophy, which is to be good on the ball and play it out from the back.

The Colombia international’s signing was another move wherein it was more than clear that Bartomeu’s understanding of football was next to insignificant. The central defender’s quality at the Camp Nou was put into question, but in truth it was due to a scouting misinterpretation and ultimately the board’s lack of eye for fit players.
