Barcelona continue to harass a frustrated and exhausted Lionel Messi

The 2019/20 season has been an exhausting season for Barcelona and its players after the club ended the season trophy-less along with a humiliating defeat against Bayern Munich. Last season has certainly taken a huge toll on the player’s mental health as well leaving them devastated and fatigued.

Lionel Messi, in particular, believed that enough is enough and had wanted a move out from the club. The 33-year-old attempted every possible option to force a move-out, however, the player has been forced to continue for another season against his will.

The 2020/21 campaign is Messi’s final season at Barca after spending 20 long years. The Argentine international will most likely leave the club next summer for Manchester City on a free transfer after failing to do so this year.

Despite this being Messi’s final season, Josep Maria Bartomeu continues to harass the 33-year-old forward. It has now been reported that the president has asked the player to take a massive pay cut which is non-negotiable.

The Catalans have declared a loss of over 300 million euros during the pandemic and are planning to recover their losses by selling several players this summer transfer market and reducing the current payroll.
