Barcelona to face competition for Liverpool superstar
Liverpool superstar’s move to Barcelona to face heavy competition.
Former Liverpool legend John Barnes thinks that big European clubs like Barcelona are going to go all-in for current Liverpool superstar, Mohammed Salah. Given the results the Egyptian has put on the table since his arrival, the former Liverpool midfielder is absolutely spot on about his assumptions. However, the ex-Red hopes to see Salah for a longer period of time at Anfield as he is treated as an absolute hero.

Barca have always produced top-class homegrown talent but similarly, they have also gone for big names in football. Ronaldinho, Philippe Coutinho, Luis Suarez, Neymar Jr, and many other superstars. They have all come running to the Nou Camp after interest from the Blaugranas. This kind of situation is inevitable, given the stature the La Liga club has. Hence, the former Liverpool midfielder John Barnes stated that he would not be surprised if Barcelona or any other big European club comes calling for the Egyptian right-winger.
The former Roma forward has produced mind-blowing statistics for Liverpool since his arrival. From shattering the goal record for a single season to winning the PFA player of the year award and winning the champions league, the winger has done it all. He has been an absolute bargain for Jurgen Klopp and his team who landed such a fantastic player at such a low price, compared to today’s market.
However, as the former Liverpool legend fears, big teams like Barcelona might come calling for the former Chelsea winger. Given the pull that clubs like the Catalans have, the other clubs could be helpless when they come calling. For instance, when Philippe Coutinho turned desperate to leave Liverpool and join the La Liga giants two years ago, even if he was unable to impress the Spanish Giants after making the move. This kind of interest in Salah might be inevitable given the performances and consistency he’s shown over the years at Anfield. The 28-year-old even netted a hat-trick on opening day in the 4-3 victory against Marcelo Bielsa’s newly-promoted Leeds United.
Will Barca succeed in signing Salah from Liverpool, if they make a move?
