Due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus Barcelona have limited funds to spend over the summer transfer window to sign players in order to try and strengthen their squad in the upcoming season to compete for the La Liga title as well as the Champions League title in a more effective manner as compared to the 2019-2020 season under Ronald Koeman.
The Spanish giant have shown interest to sign many players such as Neymar, Lautaro Martinez, Memphis Depay and Georginio Wijnaldum over the summer transfer window. However, due to insufficient funds the club hasn’t been able to sign their transfer targets and might lose the opportunity to sign their targets if other big European teams try and lure the players to their squads over the next few weeks before the transfer window closes.
Barca must sell their defensive duo to raise funds.
The 2018-2019 La Liga champions must try to sell or establish season long loan deals with an obligation to buy the defensive duo of Samuel Umtiti and Junior Firpo in order to raise funds to sign the club’s transfer targets in more promising manner. Alternatively, Ronald Koeman should try to include the defensive duo in swap deals to reduce the price of signing players over the summer transfer window.
By raising funds Barca must try to sign a world-class centre back to help fortify the Camp Nou in more effective manner as many believe that is the reason the club performed poorly under Quique Setien in the 2019-2020 season.
Do you think Barca should sell Samuel Umtiti and Junior Firpo?
