Barcelona receives disheartening news regarding their defensive target.

According to reports from GOAL, Barcelona are interested in the relegated side, Norwich City’s right-back, Max Aarons. The English defender has been linked with Barcelona for a few days now but it looks as if transfer talks could cease before it even begins. Norwich City’s Manager, Daniel Farke has made it absolutely clear that he has no intention of letting go of the young star, and the Spanish side might have to start looking for alternatives soon.

The 20-year-old is an important player for the Canaries and has already made over 80 appearances for them. A player from their own youth academy, it was always going to be hard for another team to acquire him. Aarons played an important part in his clubs Premier League run last season and although they ended up getting relegated, his individual performance was impressive enough to gain attention from an elite club like Barca.

But when asked about whether the defender was for sale, Farke replied to BBC RADIO NORFLOK,

"“I wouldn’t sell Max Aarons, not for £100m, because he’s too important for us, but that’s quite normal”Source Goal“It’s not a surprise he’s linked with the best clubs in the world because he’s such a top talented player, thank God we have developed him and we want to develop him further on and hopefully this will last pretty long”"

Aarons himself is also not too bothered by all the talks going on about his future. He was also scouted by Bayern Munich in August but he denied having any interest in leaving the club. He said that at the age of 20, things can develop but he has 4 years left with the club and he intends to fulfill that contract.
