Barcelona plans to beat Bayern Munich for star signing
Barcelona look to secure Bayern Munich’s defensive reinforcement.
Ajax youngster Sergino Dest has been a Barcelona target for quite a while this summer and the Catalans are doing their best to bring the 19-year-old to the Nou Camp. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Dutch club has apparently rejected a bid of 15 million euros for the youngster from Hansi Flick’s Bayern Munich. However, Barca are not looking to permanently sign the youngster this window. They are looking to loan the teenager for the season and then with an option to buy. The Catalans must get moving as Nelson Semedo has reportedly agreed on personal terms to play in the Premier League under Nuno at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Hansi Flick’s European Champions are reportedly willing to raise the offer from 15 million. The Dutch club will reportedly accept anything above 20 million euros for the right back. The La Liga giants on the other hand are looking to make use of their great relationship with Ajax and land the right-back on loan for the season and replace Nelson Semedo.
Ronald Koeman is a huge admirer of the American international. The Dutchman apparently tried to convince the youngster to play with him in the Netherlands National team but Dest refused and chose to play for the United States of America as his parents lived there. Otherwise, the young right-back was born in a village near Amsterdam.
Bayern or Barca, the Ajax star has a potentially bright future. It will be a massive achievement for him to join any one of these clubs at this current age. Although his playstyle is more suitable to Ronald Koeman’s way of football and a move to the Nou Camp in this time of rebuild might be a great opportunity for him.
Should Barca do everything to secure Dest?
