Barcelona have decided against letting Luis Suarez leave for four destinations as they believe such a move could backfire onto them.

Barcelona are likely to release Luis Suarez from his contract soon after they come to a mutual agreement regarding the termination clauses. The Uruguayan marksman was linked with a blockbuster switch to play with Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus, but complications with regard to obtaining an Italian citizenship cancelled out a potential switch.

El Desmarque now claims that the Blaugrana are planning to insert a clause following Suarez’s release that will prohibit from joining four clubs immediately after departing them- which may well be in the next few days. Those four clubs are Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.

Real Madrid seems like the unlikeliest destination given Suarez’s bad blood with the defending La Liga champions. The ex-Ajax marksman has a very poor image in the Spanish capital and there is no reason why Madrid would sign him either. Inserting an anti-Madrid clause makes sense for security, but Suarez was never going to join them.

Manchester City are a force to reckon in Europe under Pep Guardiola, so it is understandable why the Barcelona board is opposite to him heading to the Etihad Stadium. Manchester United is impossible because of a supposed clause inserted by Liverpool before El Pistolero signed for the Catalans six years ago.

Finally, PSG are also a very strong side and have all that it takes to beat this current Barcelona team and therefore, it is clear why Suarez won’t be allowed join PSG as well. As such, the French giants have Mauro Icardi as the strike option so even their quest for the Uruguay international looked unlikely and only the subject of rumours.

Atletico Madrid seems to be the most realistic destination, but varied reports did suggest that Diego Simeone’s side must pay up to land the striker instead of a free transfer. With Alvaro Morata having departed for Juventus, everything points to Suarez joining the La Liga side but there may be complications that delay any potential agreement.
