Barcelona receive an offer from Manchester United for their flop signing

In the summer of 2017, Barcelona announced the signing of Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund for 105 million euros excluding add ons. The 23-year-old’s career at the Camp Nou has been hindered by injuries and has reportedly missed over 60 games through injuries. With Ronald Koeman being appointed the manager of the club, it seemed like the former Borussia Dortmund winger will be sold this summer as the player has been more of a liability to the club rather than an asset that they expected him to be.

It has now come as a surprise to many, as the Dutch manager as willing to keep the French superstar at the club this season. Koeman believes that he can get the best out of the winger provided he keeps fit all season long.

Having said that, the club is still open to the idea of selling the player for a right price if an offer comes through. It has been reported by El Desmarque that Manchester United was willing to sign the 23-year-old winger.

However, Manchester United’s attempt was turned down

The Red Devils had shown a great deal of interest, but the Catalan board is not willing to sell the player for anything less than 100 million euros this summer. The Premier League side even considered the option of a loan, however, the Barca board insisted on a compulsory purchase option that would be close to 100 million euros.
