MOST TROPHIES WON FOR A SINGLE CLUB
Lionel Messi’s appearances and goals have brought Barcelona a truckload of trophies. To be precise, the forward has won 34 major accolades for his club in the last 16 seasons averaging more than two per year. However, as it stands, Ryan Giggs has a better record having won 36 during his lengthy spell with Manchester United.
With Barca a club currently downsizing its squad, Messi may have to wait another season or two before setting the record but one certainly cannot rule out the possibility of a double or even a treble this season. If this were indeed to be Messi’s last season at the club, it would be more memorable than ever to depart with a host of medals around his neck.
