Juventus are planning a mega-swap deal with Barcelona
Juventus want another lucrative swap-deal with Barcelona.
A shocking transfer swap could go down, yet again, between Barcelona and Juventus. The pair already swapped two big names last season with young Arthur Melo going to Turin while 30-year-old Miralem Pjanic went to the Catalan side. It now looks as if a swap between Ousmane Dembele and Douglas Costa could be a possibility. Both of the teams are looking to get rid of their respective players and a swap deal could be proposed by Juventus although it is quite unlikely that Barca will agree to the transfer.

It has been known that the Spanish side are actively trying to find a buyer for Dembele, the winger who arrived from Dortmund for 100 million euros. The French national was supposed to be the replacement for Neymar who at that time had just completed his transfer with a record-shattering move to Paris Saint-Germain. Dembele however, could not live up to those high expectations. Along with his mediocre performances, the 23-year-old became extremely injury prone and last season he could only play nine matches for Barcelona due to a hamstring injury.
The player has been quite a disappointment considering his price tag but a switch with Douglas Costa would be quite counterproductive. The Brazillian is already past his prime and only has a few more years to give in the top flights. The 30-year-old is also injury prone and is one of the reasons as to why Juventus are trying to offload him. Although he was a very talented player, he could never achieve his potential and a move to Barcelona does not make any sense.
Manchester United are also interested in Dembele’s services and the Catalans should definitely look into selling him off rather than swapping him. Koeman could give the youngster another try but if the Dutch manager really thinks that the French player has no place in the club, they should at least try to get back some of the money invested in the player.
Should Barca trade Dembele for Costa?
