Arsenal star reveals his reasons to reject Barcelona transfer.

Arsenal superstar Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has stated that he received multiple offers from multiple European giants this summer for a move away from the Emirates. The Gabon international rejected all offers including a massive one from Barcelona. The forward seems to have a good life in London and a very good relationship with former Manchester City assistant coach, Mikel Arteta.

More from Everything Barca

Barca were always looking for reinforcements this summer and they were looking to bring in forwards as a potential replacement for Luis Suarez who is now at Atletico Madrid under Diego Simeone. However, the Arsenal forward has stated that he rejected many bids including one from the Catalans to stay in service for the Gunners.

As of now, Suarez is sold and he is already up and running as he scored a couple of goals and got an assist in his first game for Simeone’s Atleti. However, the Catalans are still looking at Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez and Lyon’s Memphis Depay for a replacement.

Aubameyang ended these rumours with Barca after he signed a new deal with Arsenal making a staggering figure of 250,000 pounds a week which is an improvement from his previous deal of 180,000 per week. The former Borussia Dortmund stated that he stayed at the club for two reasons which are mainly the fans and the love that they have shown to him. The second reason was Mikel Arteta and his project. The former Arsenal midfielder apparently convinced the Gabonese international throughout the coronavirus lockdown and made him believe in the current project.

As for Barca, they are still on the hunt for another centre forward as they won their first La Liga game of the season under Ronald Koeman with Lionel Messi playing as a centre-forward alongside Griezmann and Ansu Fati.
