Barcelona sees clear daylight to sign their world-class defender target from Manchester City in the coming few weeks of this window

Barcelona is eager on signing Eric Garcia of Manchester City this summer transfer window to help improve their defence. The player and the club have been linked for the past several months and Garcia has decided against signing a contract as his main intention is to head back to Camp Nou.

More from Everything Barca

After months of speculation and drama, it finally seems like Barca might just sign their wanted man. The Sky Blues of the Premier League have confirmed the signing of Ruben Dias of Benfica to partner with Aymeric Laporte in the defence.

With the arrival of the Portuguese defender at the Etihad Stadium, Eric Garica’s game time will be severely limited. A move out from the Premier League this summer transfer window would benefit all three parties.

Eric Garcia would finally get his dream return to Barca after graduating from the famous La Masia. Manchester City would also be able to cash in on the player as his contract is set to expire in the summer of 2021 and the player has refused to renew terms.

Barcelona would also be benefited from the arrival of the defender since he can provide healthy competition to Pique and Lenglet and his ball-playing skills as a defender will certainly work well with Koeman’s tactics.

It has been reported by El Desmarque that the Catalans will make their final bid in the next few days to sign the 19-year-old. Meanwhile, it is highly expected that Memphis Depay will be announced as Barca’s new forward by this Friday.
