Barcelona close in on a massive double swoop signing from Manchester City this summer transfer market to reinforce their defence
Though it is too early to judge, the team’s display against Villarreal was exceptional and it seems like Ronald Koeman might just revolutionize this Barcelona squad. With the midfield and the attack looking stacked and sharp, the issue lies in the defence.

However, the Dutch midfielder has looked into this matter and has now closed the deal for Sergino Dest of Ajax. The 19-year-old American right-back will replace Nelson Semedo in the starting eleven, however, Koeman does not want to put a halt to his transfer operations there.
Jean Clair-Todibo has so far not impressed the manager and it has been reported that the young centre back could be offloaded to Everton this summer. With Todibo most likely making his way out, Barca are in a need of a centre-back to compete with Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet.
Having said that, Eric Garcia has been part of Barca’s radar for the past several months. Manchester City has announced the signing of Ruben Dias from Portugal earlier this week. The arrival of Dias will limit Garcia’s playing time and a move to the Camp Nou would be ideal.
However, according to El Desmarque, the Catalans are looking at one more Manchester City superstar. The second player is Oleksandr Zinchenko. The 23-year-old midfielder who was transformed into a makeshift left-back under Pep Guardiola is on his way out now as the Sky Blues are set to sign Nicolas Tagliafico.
With Benjamin Mendy and Nicolas Tagliafico set to compete for the left-back role, there is no room for Zinchenko. Manchester City is willing to offload him for less than 5 million euros and Barca could land a youngster that can play as a left-back and a midfielder which is a huge plus point.
