Barcelona have a few days left in the summer transfer window.

More from Everything Barca

Barcelona are expected to sign some players such as Memphis Depay and Georginio Wijnaldum as the club has sold some exceptional players such as Ivan Rakitic, Arturo Vidal and Luis Suarez over the summer transfer window. In addition to signing midfielders and attackers many believe Ronald Koeman should spend his funds to sign some defenders.

The Catalan giants have shown interest to sell Samuel Umtiti and Junior Firpo in the summer transfer window as they have failed to impress both Bartomeu and Ronald Koeman as managers at the club. Furthermore, Barca have failed to include the defensive duo as part of any swap deals as no club has shown interest to sign the players. However, many reports still suggested that Samuel Umtiti might leave the Catlan giants on a season long loan deal with an obligation to buy by a Premier League side.

Manchester City have signed Ruben Dias.

Pep Guardiola has completed the signing of the 23-year-old central defender Ruben Dias from Benfica. This move has given a huge boost to Barca to sign Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli as reports had suggested that Manchester City were the favorites to sign Napoli’s superstar. The Senegal international will help fortify the Camp Nou and help the team contend for titles in a more convincing manner, In addition to contending for titles in a more convincing manner it will remove the pressure from Gerard Pique Clement Lenglet from being overused and potentially pick up injuries in the upcoming season.

Even though many belive that Barca will try to sign an offensive player the club should spend their limited transfer budgets to sign the central defender from Napoli. Alternatively, Ronald Koeman should try to establish a loan deal with an obligation to buy the superstar from Napoli.
