Barcelona are in two minds over the sale of their French superstar forward

Barcelona has reportedly considered selling their most expensive teenage signing, Ousmane Dembele. The French superstar was signed in the summer of 2017 for 140 million euros after adding all other additional transfer fees. Dembele was signed to fill in the void on the left-flank that belonged to Neymar Jr, however, the youngster has failed to impress the club due to numerous injuries he has had since his debut.

After three seasons and missing over 60 games due to injuries, the Catalans decided that the best option would be to move on. Dembele on his best day is one of the most lethal wingers as the Frenchman is two-footed, fast, skillful, and is capable of scoring all types of goals. However, it is his history of injuries that make him an unattractive transfer target to several clubs.

Having said that, Manchester United have shown serious interest in signing the 23-year-old forward. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was hoping to land Jadon Sancho this summer, however, the pursuit until now seems to be rather fruitless.

Since Dortmund are not willing to meet the price that United has to offer, the Red Devils consider Dembele to be their next best option for the right-wing. The former Bundesliga star can play on either wing due to his footed ability which means that he could replace Daniel James at the Old Trafford.

However, reports now state that the board of Barca is in two minds over the sale of Ousmane Dembele. This is because the club does not want to loan out the player. Barca prefers to sell him if possible as the club is eager to cash in on him.

Meanwhile, United do not want to sign Dembele on a permanent transfer as they prefer to sign him on loan until 2021 and then make their final approach for Jadon Sancho. This makes the entire situation highly complicated.

Nonetheless, Ronald Koeman has given the green light for Ousmane Dembele to leave as the coach has made it clear that the winger is not part of his plans, however, he would not mind if the player stays as he can add depth to the squad.
