Under Barcelona’s new manager Ronald Koeman the club is reaching the end of the summer transfer window. In this transfer window due to the outbreak of the coronavirus Ronald Koeman has struggled to sign the club’s primary transfer targets of Lautaro Martinez and Neymar. However, as it stands the Spanish giants are on to verge to sign Memphis Depay from Lyon after signing the American international Sergino Dest from Ajax who has been brought in to replace Nelson Semedo who has joined Wolves for a price of around 30 million euros.
Even though the 2018-2019 La Liga champions had established a swap deal in which the club swapped Arthur Melo for Miralem Pjanic in hopes to strengthen the midfield of the Camp Nou many believe that Ronald Koeman is yet to sign players who can help fill the void of Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal how have been sold over the summer transfer window.
Barca need to sign a new midfielder.
Even though the Catalan giants are heavily linked with a move to sign Georginio Wijnaldum many reports suggest that the Dutch international is inclined to stay in Liverpool and play under Jurgen Klopp this season. Ronald Koeman must try and sign other midfielders to add depth to his squad to challenge for titles in a more effective way and remove the pressure from Sergio Busquets, Frenkie De Jong and Miralem Pjanic from being overused in the upcoming season. In addition to adding depth to the squad the club should try to sign a player who can replace Sergio Busquets in the near future.
Do you think Barca should try to sign a midfielder before the end of the summer transfer window?
