Barcelona are set to make a grand contract renewal offer in the summer of 2021 to secure their future goalkeeper once Ter Stegen leaves

Barcelona has a very busy summer in 2021 as the contract of Lionel Messi and Riqui Puig is set to run out. Along with these two names, the board has considered offering a contract renewal to Inaki Pena of the B team.

Currently, the senior team has Marc-Andre ter Stegen who is out injured and Neto Murara as their first choice goalkeepers. However, the club is aware that Stegen has several offers on his table from top clubs including Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain who are eager on signing the player next summer in 2021.

The German goalkeeper has not yet agreed to sign a contract renewal and many believe that he might sign for either Chelsea or Paris Saint-Germain next season. Given the likelihood of such a possibility, Barca has considered offering Inaki Pena a two-year extension along with an important role as a starter in the senior squad, according to the El Desmarque.

Neto Murara does not seem to be the ideal option to replace Ter Stegen if he does leave, thus making the 21-year-old Inaki Pena the ideal first-choice goalkeeper.

The Catalans will also attempt to offload Ousmane Dembele as well in the same summer market as it has been rumoured that the player is willing to sign for Juventus.

The summer of 2021 would be an ideal time to cash in on Dembele given the fact that his current contract runs out in 2022 and the club desperately requires a return of 105 million euros worth of investment that was made in 2017.
