Memphis Depay is unhappy with not being able to sign for Barcelona.

Olympique Lyon’s Memphis Depay is reportedly extremely disappointed with Football Club Barcelona as they failed to complete his signing this summer transfer window. The Dutchman is not disappointed with his current employers, Lyon, but only with the Catalans. However, the player is going to do everything possible to complete his desired move to the Nou Camp in the upcoming transfer window during the winter season and find a regular spot in an already stacked Barca frontline.

The Dutchman was sure to join the La Liga giants as he agreed to personal terms from the very beginning. Lyon had even lowered their price to 25 million euros in order to make it comfortable for the Spanish giants to afford but the move failed anyway due to extremely tight financial situations.

According to the French team’s president, Jean Michael Aulas, the forward is extremely disappointed with the Catalans given the fact that they could not fund his transfer fee. The La Liga giants really needed a proper replacement for Luis Suarez as the Uruguayan joined Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid on a free transfer in order to free up wages to match the standards of UEFA’S Financial Fair Play rules.

Lyon’s sporting director Juninho had stated that the forward had agreed all personal terms with the Blaugrana, however, they failed to offload all their targeted players in order to fund more transfers. They had already sold Suarez to Atleti, Ivan Rakitic to his former club Sevilla, along with Arthur Melo and Arturo Vidal to Juventus and Inter Milan respectively. Barca even sold Nelson Semedo to Nuno’s Wolverhampton Wanderers as the player left for the Premier League which helped secure Sergino Dest.

The build-up under Ronald Koeman is going pretty well so far as Barca have 2 wins and one draw in three La Liga games. Depay is extremely keen to be a part of the former Everton manager’s rebuild at the Nou Camp. The Netherlands forward will be pushing for a move to the La Liga in the January transfer window.
