Koeman adds Puig to the list of superstars he wants to warm the bench
Barcelona draw up a list of four superstars that might have to warm the bench for the season
There has been a lot of controversies since Ronald Koeman was appointed as the manager of Barcelona following the sacking of Quique Setien. Many believed that the Dutch manager lacked the experience and the tactical ability to coach a club of Barca’s stature. Koeman’s poor performance at Everton as the manager led many to believe that he would fail at Barca as well, however, so far the Dutchman has managed to silence his critics.

The former Southampton coach started his managerial career in La Liga on the brightest note after a 4-0 victory against Villarreal that was then followed by a dominant display against Celta Vigo despite being down to ten men. Koeman’s third game in charge ended as a 1-1 draw against Sevilla, however, the first three games have been against top oppositions and the Catalans have managed to score 8 and have conceded just 1 goal.
Quite an impressive start from the former Netherlands national team manager. However, Koeman’s quality as a manager will soon be tested as the Catalans are set to face Getafe, Real Madrid and Juventus in the coming few weeks. This is the period when the manager would have to make the most of his squad rotation skills to give the important players rest for the demanding fixtures.
