3 Barcelona transfer targets set by Ronald Koeman
Memphis Depay from Lyon
One of the first things that Koeman did when he arrived was telling the older players in the squad that they are no longer required. This also included their main striker Luis Suarez. This was a controversial decision and many are still upset with him.
However, Koeman had a backup player in mind. 27-year-old Memphis Depay has been outstanding ever since he left Manchester United and Koeman knows all about his talents as he worked with him while managing the Dutch national team. This was a transfer we thought would take place this transfer window but due to Barcelona’s financial situation, there is a huge condition for the transfer to go through.
The five times Champions League winners must sell Ousmane Dembele in order to raise funds for Depay but the problem is that Barcelona will not sell him for less than 90 million euros and Dembele himself does not want to leave the club. This creates a huge obstacle for the Spanish club and they must look into more options in order to accommodate Depay’s wages.
