Cristiano Ronaldo might miss Juventus’ clash against Barcelona
After two years of waiting fans were given the opportunity to witness Cristiano Ronaldo vs. Lionel Messi once again as Barcelona and Juventus were both drawn in the same group in the UEFA Champions League. However, their reunion may be interrupted by the COVID-19 virus as the Portuguese winger tested positive for the virus on the 13th of October. Their long-awaited match might now go without the appearance of one of the main attractions.

Ronaldo was on International duty when he was administered the test and it was found out that he had contracted the virus. The player himself was quite shocked with the result as he said he felt fine and he showed no symptoms. Although Ronaldo himself might be asymptomatic, he will still need to self-quarantine until he is cured of the virus.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner will miss three matches for sure and might go on to miss even more if he cannot be declared as covid free soon. The match against Barcelona is on the 28th and for Ronaldo to play the match he will need to be certified as coronavirus free by the 21st.
According to protocols, a footballer must be free of the virus for at least a week before he is let back on the field.
This is a huge blow to football fans around the world but they should not worry too much as Portugal’s coach said that Ronaldo is in good spirits and is as healthy as ever. This should allow his body to fight the virus quicker. And even if the winger misses out on the first match, he will surely be able to play in the reserves fixture. The match will certainly be a good one anyway as both new managers, Ronald Koeman and Andrea Pirlo will be able to display their tactics against each other.
