Ronaldinho ranked higher than Lionel Messi

Former Barcelona youngster ranks Ronaldinho over Lionel Messi.

Ask any football fan, any footballer or in fact anyone who has a little knowledge about the sport, who the best player of all time is and you will probably hear either Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi. Former Barcelona player, Gerard Deulofeu, however, disagrees with this statement however as he puts Barcelona legend, Ronaldinho over the Argentine maestro as the, “Greatest player of all time”.

The 26-year-old is a product of La Masia and had the opportunity to work with both Ronaldinho and Messi. While he says he has respect for both the players and that they are both undoubtedly incredible, he also believes that the former is the better player of the two.

"“For me, Ronaldinho is the best player in history. I met him, I went to see a match at the Camp Nou and he was sitting next to me. It was a wonderful experience.”“Messi is incredible too, I like him very much. I played with him for six months and he is a nice person, a great player. The whole world knows about Messi.”Source Goal."

The pair has won seven Ballon d’Or between themselves with Messi winning six and Ronaldinho winning one. The argument can be made that the Brazilian is the better player as he essentially mentored the Argentine during his days in the Catalan side.

Deulofeu on the other hand could not flourish in the great club and was forced to move out of the Spanish league in order to find more game time. He spent some time with clubs like Everton, AC Milan, and Watford. He is currently on loan at Udinese and says that he is enjoying his return to Serie A.
