Barcelona should focus on signing a budding midfielder

Barcelona have sold some critical players over the summer transfer window.

Barcelona have sold many experienced players such as Ivan Rakitic, Arturo Vidal, Nelson Semedo and Luis Suarez over the summer transfer window. These players have been crucial for the success that Barca had over the last few seasons. However, these exceptional players failed to help their side win any silverware in the 2019- 2020 season as well as recorded a dreadful loss of 8-2 against Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi finals which lead to the sacking of Quique Setien.

The Spanish giants have made an exceptional move by selling the midfield duo of Ivan Rakitic who is 32 years old and Arturo Vidal who is 33 years old. This seems to be a beneficial move as the midfield duo are playing one of the last few years of their careers and them leaving the Camp Nou will give more opportunities to younger players to establish themselves at the club and succeed in the club which will in turn solidify the midfield for the long run.

Ronald Koeman must sign some budding midfielders over the winter transfer window.

Barca must spend their funds over the winter transfer window to sign budding players such as Eduardo Camavinga, Houssem Aouar, Giovani Lo Celso and Fabian Ruiz to fill the void of Vidal and Rakitic in the near future. Even though this move might result in the inability of the club to sign their transfer targets which consists of players such as Georginio Wijnaldum and Memphis Depay this moves might prove to be more beneficially for the future of the 2018-2019 La Liga champions as they will be signing players who can serve the club for a longer amount of time.
