Barcelona future bright as Ansu Fati becomes youngest Clasico scorer

Ansu Fati has a bright future at Barcelona after El Clasico’s performance.

Ansu Fati’s bright start to this year’s Barcelona campaign continued with the setting of a new record. The 17-year-old on Saturday became the youngest player in the 21st century to have scored in the historic El Clasico tie. At the age of only 17 years and 359 days, Fati broke Vinicius Jr.’s previous record to create history.

The Blaugranas started the match in a dismal fashion and conceded a goal in the opening five minutes courtesy of Karim Benzema however, 17-year-old Ansu Fati rose to the occasion and leveled the scores just three minutes later in the game. In doing so he also became the youngest scorer in the classic derby breaking the Brazilian winger’s previous record of 19 years and 233 days.

The Spanish winger has now scored five goals in six appearances across all competitions for the Spanish giants. This is a tremendous start and no one could have expected the albeit talented youngster to be making such a big impact.

Fati after their match in the UEFA Champions League, expressed his desire to play in the Clasico as it is a historic match, one that every player dreams of participating in. Fati not only succeeded in fulfilling his dream but also managed to make a new record that will cement his legacy in the monumental derby.

Although Barcelona did go on to lose the match 3-1, this will be a huge moment for the club as they have realized that their future lies in the hands of Fati. They extended the youth’s contract this year and put an 800 million euros release clause on him which cements him to the Spanish side.
