Juventus will be without Cristiano Ronaldo against Barcelona.
Former Manchester United and Real Madrid man Cristiano Ronaldo will not feature for Juventus during their clash against Barcelona as he has tested positive with the coronavirus for the second time in a row. The 35-year-old forward would have faced his old La Liga rivals, especially Lionel Messi, in a UEFA Champions League group stage but it looks like he will be out of the clash against Ronald Koeman’s men.

Ronaldo tested positive with the coronavirus for the second time this month as he tried to make a quick recovery to make it in time for the game against the Catalans. However, he might just make it in time for the second leg of the group stage. The former Madrid star tested positive with the coronavirus during his time with the national team on the International break, and he has missed a total of one game for Portugal since then and two games for his current club Juventus. While the Italian giants tried their very best to confirm Ronaldo for the match against Barca, the recovery was not quick enough.
Lionel Messi and Cristiano built a rivalry that lasted 15 years. These two spent 15 years on the top together, trying to beat each other. They only seemed to make each other better as they’re surely the two greatest footballers of all time. The fans were not sure about watching them play against each other but this group stage clash between Barca and Juve reignited the rivalry.
The second-leg, however, will be a very good opportunity for both of them to make a point on who is better than the other, as this might be the last time they face each other. Cristiano, given his mentality, would love to score against the Spanish giants and make some of the Real Madrid fans happy with nostalgia. The same goes for Lionel Messi if he wanted to prove that he’s still the best. Hopefully, both of them are back for the second leg tie as we might get to witness them play against each other again.
