Lionel Messi imposes a mammoth demand to renew terms with Barcelona
Sources from Italy claim that Lionel Messi might demand the signing of Lautaro Martinez as part of the contract renewal negotiations with Barcelona
With the resignation of Josep Maria Bartomeu and the board, there is a slight chance that Lionel Messi might just renew his contract with Barcelona. The 33-year-old was close to signing for Manchester City this summer as he wanted out from the poor leadership and governance by Bartomeu and the board. Fortunately or unfortunately, the move was blocked as the club wanted the captain to be part of the new project under the coach, Ronald Koeman.

Reports state that Lionel Messi might demand the signing of Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan next summer if he is to renew terms with the Catalan side.
Martinez has been a priority signing at the club for over two seasons, however, Ronald Koeman currently has his vision fixed on the signing of Memphis Depay. If Koeman agrees to let Depay go and opts for Martinez instead, then there is a possibility that Lionel Messi could renew terms.
