Josep Maria Bartomeu has expressed his dissent towards Neymar whom he holds responsible for the downfall of Barcelona and the project that was in place. The 57-year-old had resigned from his post a few days ago after months of turmoil at the club.

However, Bartomeu believes that his project’s downfall was due to Neymar’s actions. From a neutral point of view, it could be possible. In the former president’s first tenure the club won the treble and destroyed Europe with the lethal MSN trio.

However, the Catalans lost the plot completely once Neymar left for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2017. Since then, Barca has attempted to sign several replacements such as Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele, Malcom, and Antoine Griezmann. And none of the signings have gone to plan as of yet.

Till today, there is no thorough experienced left-winger in the squad. Although in football there are no if’s and but’s, however, the situation could have been different if the MSN trio was still kept together.

Neymar’s decision to leave was quite spontaneous as well which put Barca into this frenzy panic mode of signing replacements without a proper plan. Nonetheless, the past remains there and now the club can hope for a better future after the elections next summer.
