Ronald Koeman fumes in anger as a Barcelona superstar has decided not to leave the club despite being wanted out by the manager and the board

Barcelona has endured their worst ever start in La Liga Santander under Ronald Koeman. In their six fixtures so far, the Catalans have won two, drawn two, and have lost two. Currently, the team is placed 12th on the table and the person held responsible for this position is the Dutch manager, Ronald Koeman.

The Dutch manager believes that his squad will turn this around soon enough, however, recruitments are still needed in some areas of the team, according to the manager. In particular, the defense backline needs a revamp as there has been not much change apart from the inclusion of the promising Sergino Dest.

The centre-back pairing of Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet has been nothing short of awful for the last two seasons. Surprisingly the club has renewed the contracts of both the players as well. Eric Garcia is the player that has been linked the most with a move to the Camp Nou. However, for the arrival of Garcia, the club will have to first show the door to Samuel Umtiti who takes up a major portion of the wage roll and barely contributes to the first team.

Samuel Umtiti has been linked with a move to Arsenal, however, reports now state that the player has decided that he will not leave Barca and will see out his current contract. The French defender earns 12 million euros a year at Camp Nou and is well aware that if he leaves for Arsenal then there is no possibility of him earning a salary of that magnitude despite having no role in the team.
