Barcelona are about to commit a huge cardinal sin in the form of letting go of Marc Andre ter Stegen.

Let us take a moment to breathe in and out. Barcelona may be forced to let go of their premier keeper in ter Stegen to none other than Bayern Munich, as per Todo Fichages.

The deal is estimated to be around 80 million Pounds and in simple terms, that is approximately 10 million Pounds for every goal that the German conceded in the La Liga sides UCL clash against Bayern Munich.

There have been talks about players getting a wage cut owing to the financial difficulties at Barcelona due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It seems Messi will be facing a pay cut as well.

Barca should not sell Marc Andre ter Stegen at any cost. He is one of the better keepers going around and one off-day surely is not enough to let him go. He has been one of the most consistent players at Camp Nou and it is unlikely that the 28-year-old would love a move to the Allianz Arena, given that Neuer is the first choice goalkeeper at Bayern.

Barcelona have made some huge transfer blunders in the last four years. Coutinho and Griezmann are the examples of the phrase “failed experiments”.

The Blaugrana should consider keeping ter Stegen with them for at least three more years. Moreover, given the margin of the defeat at the hands of Bayern, it is unlikely that Barcelona would be willing to do any sort of business with them.

So Barcelona fans, you might just want to relax a bit but then many of the decisions taken by the club in recent times have been absolutely shocking.

No promises being made here but it is very unlikely that Barcelona would resort this option in a bid of keeping their warchest full. After Messi, ter Stegen is probably the best player at the club.

The La Liga giants have got a huge winter window coming ahead of them.

The likes of Eric Garcia and Memphis Depay might finally join Barcelona or at least be signed by the Blaugrana. The Catalan giants are in a desperate need of a striker and a centre-back. There is currently very less competition at the club and that is hurting the team’s chances. January will be a very crucial month for Ronald Koeman’s men and they need to get their decisions spot on, if they are to challenge for the league title this season. So far, they haven’t proved to be much of a challenge for Real Madrid.

Barca are currently on the 12th position in the La Liga and they go up against Dynamo Kyiv in their UCL group stage fixture on Thursday.
