The world of football was left shocked when Josep Maria Bartomeu announced that he and the entire board of directors would be resigning effective immediately. This decision left the already broken Barcelona in a more dangerous position. The club is now being managed by a management committee but they must elect a new President within 90 days.

Polls suggest that Victor Font, CEO, and co-founder of Delta Partners, will most probably be voted as the new president of the football club. The CEO gave a virtual interview to fans of the club and explained to them his plans for rejuvenating the club. Although he refrained from naming the people who are involved in the project, he did give us three very big names, Xavi Hernandez, Jordi Cryuff, and Carles Puyol.
Font has publicly stated that he sees Xavi as the ideal coach to bring back Barca from the depths that they have fallen into. A club that once conquered the entirety of the world was unable to lift a single trophy last season and Xavi seems to be Font’s coach of choice. This would also mean that Ronald Koeman would have to be sacked.
The presidential candidate also revealed that he was in contact with Jordi Cryuff as Xavi admires him a lot and thinks that he would be the perfect Sporting Director for the club. He said during the interview,
"“Jordi Cruyff is one of Xavi’s dreams for the sporting director role, We are convinced by him.”Source Sport"
Another ex-player whom he mentioned was the club’s legendary captain, Carles Puyol. Font said that the legend will be offered an honorary position and he will do everything in his power to get the centre-back back to his old club.
Will Xavi and Jordi Cryuff make a great pair at Barca?
