Ronald Koeman‘s Barcelona are considering making a move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Tanguy Ndombele next summer. However, according to Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Barca are considering making a move for the Frenchman. This move will give Ndombele an opportunity to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world and also will have the chance to revive his status back to world-class as he was given that tag during his time at Lyon. One of his best performances in a Lyon shirt was against the Catalans in the 2018/19 season which made the world take notice of him.
Club president Josep Maria Bartomeu resigned voluntarily from his position and the elections for a new president will be held soon. However, the build-up has not stopped. The Catalans are in desperate need of top replacements at each and every position given the fact that they had such an ageing squad. Ivan Rakitic, Luis Suarez, Arturo Vidal had all departed the club in the 2020 summer transfer window.
Ndombele would be a fantastic addition in Barca. He’d get to link up with the likes of Miralem Pjanic, Frenkie De Jong, Riqui Puig, Pedri and Sergio Busquets in the midfield. La Liga might be a more suitable league for the player as he did extremely well in the Ligue 1 but struggled in the Premier League, perhaps due to the intense match scheduling. His career at London started off with a flyer as he scored a belter on his debut on opening day against Aston Villa in the 2019/20 season. But his performances at Spurs have had their ups and downs. He was not able to thrive or take flight like the fans and the people at the club expected him to.
A move for Ndombele to the Nou Camp would be a fantastic opportunity for him to prove himself and the Catalan giants will have a fantastic midfielder in him. He will improve the squad in a massive way if this signing does go through.
Would Tanguy Ndombele be the right fit for Barca?
