Barcelona have been rest assured by their lucrative transfer target as the player has promised that he will join the club by next summer

Ronald Koeman on several occasions has stated that Barcelona lacks a thorough striker or a number 9 since the departure of Luis Suarez earlier in the summer. The Dutch manager’s worries have only multiplied over the last few days as Ansu Fati has now joined Philippe Coutinho, Samuel Umtiti, and Ronald Araujo on the sidelines.

More from Everything Barca

Barca now has a limited number of players to form their attack and will have to rely on the younger players such as Fransico Trincao, Ousmane Dembele, and Pedri to fill in the gap. Having said that, Koeman was eager on signing Memphis Depay this winter and was willing to show Ousmane Dembele the door for the lucrative Ligue 1 player.

However, with Ansu Fati now injured for the next couple of months, Koeman has no other option but to keep the former Borussia Dortmund winger who has shown signs of promise lately.

Fati’s injury has technically ruled out the possible signing of Depay this winter and this means that the club will have to make a move next season in the summer market.

Nonetheless, the former Manchester United winger desperately wants a move this winter to Barca and has promised Lyon fans that he cannot assure them that he will stay until June, next season.

What do you think of this situation? Should Barca loan out Dembele in the winter and sign Depay? or should they wait until the summer next season and sign him on a free transfer?
