Lionel Messi’s future at Barcelona takes a sharp U-Turn after reports state that Neymar of Paris Saint-Germain is longing a return to the Camp Nou

Reports from GOAL, state that Neymar is longing a return to Camp Nou despite considering to renew terms with Paris Saint-Germain for a long term deal. Not so long ago there were reports claiming that Barcelona had overpaid the Brazilian by 10 million euros and have now demanded a return of the excess amount. Quite a major turn of events in the past week or so.

Nonetheless, Neymar’s possible return to Barca should not be written off completely. Both Victor Font and Joan Laporta, who are the two frontrunners to take over as president next summer, are massive fans of the Brazilian and believe that the return of the winger could play a major role in conquering Europe once again.

In fact, Lionel Messi’s future at Barcelona could take a massive U-Turn provided that the club sign Neymar next summer. The Argentine and the Brazilian share a strong bond, both on and off the field as well. The plausible signing of Neymar might see Messi rethink his future given the fact that this duo along with Luis Suarez had once destroyed every team that came their way.

But here comes the catch. Although Font and Laporta might be massive Neymar fans, the issue is in the finances. The Brazilian certainly will not take a pay-cut to sign for his former club nor will PSG accept anything less than 180 million euros.

Barca are currently in deep waters with their current financial state. It is highly unlikely that a transfer of this stature could be pulled off give the debt that the club is in. What is your opinion? Can Neymar return next summer?
