Manchester City has reportedly prepared a lucrative deal to lure Lionel Messi of Barcelona. The Sky Blues plan on approaching the player in January.
It seems like Lionel Messi will be leaving Barcelona at the end of the season when his contract expires. The 33-year-old wanted a move out earlier in the summer to Manchester City but was kept at Camp Nou against his will. However, from January onwards, Messi can freely negotiate a deal with any interested party.

Having said that, reports confirm that Manchester City has lined up a gigantic deal to lure Lionel Messi. It has been reported by the Times that the City Football Group has prepared a 10-year contract for the South American forward that would see him play in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium and in the MLS for New York City FC.
A deal like this has never been seen before in the world of football and Leo Messi could be tempted to accept such an offer. Messi is simply on the lookout for a winning project that Manchester City has promised to deliver and the possible reunion with Pep Guardiola is also another major factor.
The 33-year-old so far has not been at his best and has been misfiring since the start of the season. Leo Messi has just one goal from open play in all competitions which seems to be quite a shocking stat given the fact that he is considered to be one of the greatest of all times.
Nonetheless, it is to be seen whether Messi accepts this proposal from the City Football Group or if Joan Laporta or Victor Font can counter this offer by offering and delivering a successful winning project that could keep Messi at Camp Nou.
