The report claims that Ronald Koeman wants to get rid of Philippe Coutinho and land Argentine attacker, Paulo Dybala instead. Coutinho has not had one comfortable year at the Nou Camp since his big-money signing from Liverpool in the 17/18 winter transfer window.
A huge signing like the Brazilian attacker was sent away to Bayern Munich on loan last season as he went to the Allianz Arena and won the treble with Bayern Munich. However, his loan spell ended and he’s now back at the Nou Camp this season. So far he’s played well but the same Coutinho that was last seen at Anfield isn’t making a comeback any time soon based on the performances he’s put in.
If this particular deal does take place between Ronald Koeman and Andrea Pirlo, it will be the second time almost inside a year that Barcelona and Juventus will have made a swap deal. The summer transfer window of 2020 witnessed Arthur Melo depart from the Nou Camp in a swap deal which saw Miralem Pjanic arrive and play for the Catalans in the La Liga. The fans of Barcelona considered it a horrible decision by the club as Arthur was extremely young and talented and they could not understand why a 24-year-old was sold for a player who’s in his 30’s.
Reports now suggest that the Blaugranas are interested in bringing in Dybala and they are willing to sell the 28-year-old. Barcelona being linked to the Argentine left-footer was a very common rumor in every year’s summer transfer window but it cooled down for the last couple of seasons as the Juventus attacker regressed in his performances. Fresh reports now suggest that the La Liga giants may actually move in for the attacker and sign him by exchanging him with Coutinho.
Should Barca swap Coutinho with Dybala?
